About the role

We are looking for a technical leader to support the growth of Timewave’s engineering team. You will be working closely with the founders to develop and execute our technical strategy across all our products including Covenants, Rebalancer, and Interchain Protocol Guild.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the software development lifecycle for Timewave’s products
  • Develop and enforce coding standards and processes that facilitate team coordination and allow us to ship safe products fast
  • Manage releases ensuring that they meet technical specifications and are robustly audited, tested, and documented
  • Collaborate with teammates from engineering and product to make technical and architectural decisions
  • Mentor and guide teammates in order to build a high performing engineering culture

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, storage, networking, and blockchains
  • 4-6 years of engineering experience. At least 1 year of experience in a management or tech lead role.
  • Expertise with software development best practices such as agile processes, version control, testing, and CI/CD
  • Past work with high assurance distributed systems or low-level blockchain architectures. Experience with Cosmos SDK, CometBFT/Tendermint, and IBC is a plus
  • Proficiency in either Go and/or Rust. Front end experience is a bonus
  • Passionate about crypto and demonstrated interest in DeFi, digital institutions, and new forms of money

Bonus

  • Experience with smart contract development in CosmWasm, EVM, or SVM
  • Open source contributions to the Interchain Stack

We value curiosity and non-traditional career paths. If you don’t meet all the requirements perfectly but believe you would excel on the team, we would still love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.

What we offer

  • Above-market equity. We plan on raising our first venture capital round in 2024. There is still time to join us on the ground floor.
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Deeply self-motivated teammates who encourage you to run with your passion
  • High-trust, high-agency team striving to be the world’s best collaborators
  • Immaculate vibes

We operate as a nimble team, and we expect you to be a self-starter who can assume ownership. This role is deeply technical, emphasizing hands-on coding and review skills over traditional management. If you're not excited about actively contributing to code development, this may not be the role for you.
