Head of Content and Editorial

Since 2014, the mission-driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high-scale today. Developers and companies around the world build on it, and the SDF team is expanding to support the rapidly growing and changing Stellar ecosystem.

The Head of Content will partner across teams to develop and bring to life the SDF story, whether as a whole or on a campaign, moment-in-time basis. This person will work closely with the Director of Communications in outlining the full content strategy for the next 12 - 24 months, and identify the big bets for growing this practice for the organization. As a new team, this person will be critical in establishing what success looks like for content marketing at SDF, building its foundation, metrics of success, and illustrating its impact across the organization. This role will grow a team underneath them over time and will report directly to the Director of Communications.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead channel content strategy, including on existing channels (i.e., LinkedIn, X, newsletters) as well as emerging channels (i.e., Instagram, email program)
• Develop content marketing strategies by campaign/story and lay groundwork with key partners for execution
• Understand and implement SEO best practices to produce content that aligns with keyword strategy and improves overall ranking and organic traffic
• Strategize and execute paid media editorial opportunities
• Partner with Director of Communications on content strategy development and lead implementation
• Lead initial discovery of overall content insights in current state to drive content strategy and build practice
• Identify metrics of success for content executions; Lead weekly report out in partnership with with Content Manager
• Partner with Director of Communications on development and narrative for monthly and quarterly insight reports
• Develop test and learn strategy and executions, as part of larger content marketing strategy
• Guide editorial executions with Content Manager, communicating needs in shifting plans, reprioritizing content, and more
• Partner across organization with key contacts, such as Creative Director, Director of Digital Marketing, Analytics Strategist and others, on implementation of content strategy and developing new processes for its execution 

We offer competitive pay with a base salary range for this position of $155,000 - $195,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer lumen-denominated grants along with the following perks and benefits:
