The Role: Staff Web3 Engineer
Sapien is seeking a Staff Web3 Engineer to take a lead role in architecting and accelerating the development of our blockchain-integrated systems. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior engineer who thrives in a fast-moving, remote-first environment and values both ownership and collaboration.
Weâre looking for a full-stack expert with deep experience in smart contract development (EVM) and web2/database-driven applications. Youâll help drive technical strategy, mentor developers, and ensure smooth integration between smart contracts, APIs, and frontend experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Architect, build, test, and deploy smart contracts to testnets and mainnets
* Lead web3 integrations with partners and contribute to go-to-market efforts alongside the business team
* Guide and review React frontend implementations that interface with smart contracts
* Ensure a clean, maintainable, and well-tested codebase
* Support cross-functional teams with technical decision-making and unblock teammates when needed
An ideal candidate will:
* Operate independently and confidently at a senior level, while collaborating effectively with designers, engineers, and product leads
* Have deep experience with smart contract development (Solidity or similar) and familiarity with security best practices
* Be highly proficient in full-stack engineering, including backend development and working with relational databases like Postgres
* Have a strong eye for UI/UX and be able to make informed design and implementation decisions when specs are incomplete
* Know how to balance speed and quality, delivering clean code thatâs tested and documented
* Understand the performance implications of frontend/backend architecture and build responsive, performant applications
* Be a clear communicator who knows when to ask questions, raise flags, or offer guidance
