VP of Engineering

Role Overview:

As a VP of Engineering, you will lead our engineering team, drive the development of the Raiinmaker Network Protocol, and ensure the successful execution of our product roadmap. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals, foster innovation, and deliver high-quality software solutions. You'll span technologies from cloud to blockchain and everything in between, aligning our executive team and product strategy with changes in technology to create an innovative culture.

Responsibilities:

• Engineering Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Technical Vision: Articulate a long-term technical direction and vision for maintaining and scaling our blockchain, web, and mobile platform.
• Product Development: Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality software products, from concept to launch, ensuring they meet customer needs and market demands. Create new innovative Web3 products and performant, reliable systems using modern tools like React, React Native, Typescript, Flutter, Node, Golang, and REST.
• Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
• Technical Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive technical strategy that supports business objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, and other departments to ensure cohesive and efficient product development processes. Review all feature designs within your product area and across the company for cross-cutting projects.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high standards of quality and performance. Be an owner of the security, safety, scale, operational integrity, and architectural clarity of these designs.
• Innovation: Drive technological innovation by staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and integrating them into our development processes.
• Resource Management: Manage engineering resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization to meet project timelines and business goals.
• Budget Management: Oversee the engineering budget, making informed decisions to balance cost, quality, and innovation.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate technical strategies, progress, and challenges to executive leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10+ years of experience in software engineering and at least 8+ years of experience in developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern, component-based JS frameworks like React.
• Familiarity with and/or experience in developing and shipping blockchain applications to large amounts of users and stakeholders.
• Experience in Machine Learning, AI, DePin, or Blockchain development a big plus
• Extensive experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong technical background with expertise in modern software development practices, tools, and frameworks, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Proven experience in developing and executing technical strategies that align with business goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, and usability.
• Excellent skills in mentoring, maturity, dealing with conflict, and communication across the product group and engineering teams.
