Openmesh is an open-source initiative focused on developing a decentralized data infrastructure to store and manage critical global data without intermediaries, beginning with Web3 data. The platform is designed to collect, cryptographically store, process, stream, and provide data connectivity universally, eliminating the need for registration, licensing, or payments.
Key components of Openmesh include Xnode, a tool that enables developers to build decentralized data clouds efficiently, and UnifiedAPI, which offers a single endpoint for accessing comprehensive crypto and Web3 data. Additionally, Pythia allows users to design, build, and store their own crypto and Web3 data products.
Founded by Ashton Hettiarachi, Openmesh operates as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) without a traditional corporate structure, relying on token economics to sustain its operations. The project aims to democratize data access, ensuring that information remains open, decentralized, and free from centralized control, thereby preserving the principles of decentralization and transparency in the Web3 ecosystem.
