Who we are looking for

We are looking for a senior smart-contract and token engineer with real production experience building secure EVM-based financial infrastructure.

You understand smart-contract security, EVM token architecture, wallet infrastructure, secure signing, minting and burning, transaction monitoring, and the reliability requirements of systems that handle customer value.

About Ihsan

Ihsan is building the Digital Islamic Golden Age: a global ecosystem for the Ummah.

We begin with Ihsan Connect, an end-to-end encrypted messenger, and Ihsan Pay, a global riba-free payments system. Over time, Ihsan will bring together payments, commerce, work, communication, and financial tools designed around the needs and values of Muslims worldwide.

We are now building the Ihsan Gold Token, our gold-backed digital token.

• 1 Ihsan Gold Token represents 1 gram of allocated physical gold.
• Every token is backed by real gold held with a bullion and vault partner.
• Users can buy and sell the token directly through the Ihsan app.
• Approved users can send and receive the token between approved wallets on EVM Base.

The role

You will build the technical foundation of the Ihsan Gold Token. This includes Solidity smart contracts, token minting and burning, on-chain security, wallet and signing architecture, and reliable connections to our reserve and order systems.

This is a founding technical role. You will have real ownership over the architecture and security of a product where trust, accuracy, and operational discipline are essential.

What you will build

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the Solidity smart contracts that govern the Ihsan Gold Token on EVM Base.
• Create and configure the Ihsan Gold Token using secure, production-grade EVM token standards.
• Design secure minting flows: no token may be minted until the matching gold allocation is confirmed.
• Build secure burn and redemption flows.
• Design a permissioned-transfer architecture, if transfers are limited to approved wallets.
• Implement role-based access controls, allowlists or denylists, emergency pause procedures, and authority-management flows.
• Design multisig, secure signing, key-management, and operational approval procedures.
• Build reliable on-chain transaction flows for user-to-user transfers.
• Ensure correct integration between the off-chain order and reserve ledger and on-chain mint and burn events.
• Build deployment processes for testnet, staging, and mainnet.
• Establish monitoring, indexing, alerting, reconciliation, and operational runbooks.
• Help define the smart-contract security architecture, including independent audits and the decision between upgradeable and immutable contracts.

The core invariant

The total supply of Ihsan Gold Token must never exceed the amount of allocated physical gold held in custody.

Every mint, burn, reserve balance, wallet approval, and token supply figure must be continuously auditable.

What our wider team and partners handle

You will not be expected to build the entire financial product alone.

• A bullion and vault partner will purchase, audit, and store the physical gold.
• Our backend team will build broader app APIs, order flows, internal records, and operational tooling.
• Our mobile team will build the customer experience.
• Legal, licensing, KYC, AML, and compliance are handled separately.

Your responsibility is the secure smart-contract and token infrastructure, and its correct integration with the wider Ihsan system.

Required experience

• Strong production experience designing and shipping secure Solidity smart contracts on EVM-compatible chains, ideally involving tokens, stablecoins, payments, wallets, or other customer-value systems.
• Strong knowledge of ERC-20 and relevant token extensions, EVM security, wallets, transaction signing, RPC providers, and event indexing.
• Experience implementing secure mint, burn, transfer-restriction, pause, allowlist/denylist, and role-based authority-management flows.
• Strong understanding of multisig, MPC or hardware-backed signing, and secure key-management design.
• Experience with financial ledgers, reconciliation, payments, wallets, stablecoins, or other systems handling customer value.
• Experience building reliable APIs, event-driven workflows, transaction state machines, and idempotent systems.
• Strong testing, monitoring, auditing, and incident-response discipline.
• Excellent English communication.

Within the first months, you will have helped us launch a controlled pilot where:

• Ihsan Gold Token is live on EVM Base.
• Every token represents 1 gram of confirmed allocated gold.
• Users can buy and sell only through the Ihsan app.
• Approved users can transfer tokens to other approved users.
• Supply, reserve balances, minting, burning, and wallet approvals are continuously auditable.
• The team has secure procedures for operating, monitoring, and scaling the system.
