Who You Are:

We're looking for a Security Engineer to lead our overall enterprise systems integration with a security first approach, accounting for full systems lifecycle (S-SDLC), including operationalization, and support. We’re looking for a senior technologist with expertise in enterprise applications, SaaS, infrastructure, and security that can work collaboratively with peers in IT, security, software product engineering, infrastructure engineering, and business teams to implement secure solutions at a rapidly growing company.

What You’ll Do:

Champion security throughout the systems / solutions selection, implementation, operation, and full lifecycle of the service.
Work with stakeholders to ensure solution / service requirements are met in the most secure and reliable fashion possible while providing the flexibility needed to enable Galaxy’s rapidly changing and growing business.
Assist peer teams in securing applications, business software and services, and infrastructure.
Assist technical teams with the interpretation of Galaxy’s security reference architecture and the implementation of appropriate security controls.
Participate in new solution requirements gathering and design development.
Assist with development, review, and execution of test plans to ensure effectiveness of security controls.
Collaborate with teams on mitigating findings including assessment of impacts, possible solutions, and efficacy of remedies.
Assist with the secure integration of cloud applications and infrastructure.
Aid with selection, implementation, integration, and operation of tools and services to secure and monitor the Galaxy enterprise and identify vulnerabilities, intrusions, and data exfiltration activity with a heavy focus on automation.
Be a subject matter expert on the implementation, operation, and support of end user computing, infrastructure, and cloud service security controls.

What We’re Looking For:

8+ years of diverse experience in information technology and cybersecurity including understand of and or expertise in:
- End user compute (PC, Mac, Mobile), engineering and operations.
- Patching and Vulnerability Management.
- Application / SaaS selection, integration, and support.
- Infrastructure design, engineering, operations, and support (physical and cloud).
- Security controls selection, integration, operations, and support.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer technology field or quantitative equivalent experience.
Proficient to expert technical skills in several of the following:
- Scripting / automation, (Python, Powershell, etc).
- Data Networking – switching, routing, firewalls, load-balancers, proxy, etc.
- Cloud Computing – (AWS, GCP) and delivery patterns (PaaS, IaaS, serverless, etc).
- Security Infrastructure / Controls – firewalls, EDR, XDR, SSO, PAM, IAM, Insider Threat Detection, SIEM, etc.
- Active Directory / O365 / Azure / GSuite
- Agile fundamentals like Test Driven Development, backlog management, and user stories.
- Understanding and experience with privacy concepts including privacy by design, GDPR, PIAs, and personal data handling and security profile standards like CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs.
Self-starter with strong business acumen.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with system engineering teams, quality assurance, DevSecOps, peer security teams, and business teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to instill confidence and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audience.

Bonus Points:

Cybersecurity certifications including CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ and GSEC are encouraged.

The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.

Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000
