Job Summary:
We are seeking a Business Developer to help drive the growth of Seer’s prediction market platform. This is a dynamic, multifaceted role that will involve identifying potential information seekers (entities which could benefit from information produced by prediction markets), understanding their needs, crafting proposals and working toward their success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identification of prospects:
- Identify entities which would benefit from using prediction markets. This includes crypto native entities (crypto projects, DAOs), corporations, associations and government agencies.
- Identify prediction market usecases for those entities. This includes simple prediction markets, scalar markets (estimating values), futarchy (decisions based on prediction markets), distilled human judgement (scaling human evaluation through prediction markets using AI).
- Proposal crafting:
- Craft proposals for utilisation of Seer prediction markets for prospects. This will require a good understanding of both prediction market mechanisms and client specific information needs.
- Proposal submission:
- Submit those proposals using the appropriate channels (decision makers, DAO proposals, grant programs). This will require:
- An ability to pitch to decision makers.
- An understanding of DAO governance.
- An ability to write grant proposals.
- General networking:
- Attend general crypto/decision making events in order to identify prospects and partners.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Political Science, Game Theory, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in Business Development. Proven track record in identifying, engaging, and closing partnerships, preferably in the crypto and/or the government sector.
- Understanding of Prediction Markets. Familiarity with prediction market mechanisms, their applications, and how they can be leveraged for decision-making.
- Crypto & Web3 Knowledge. Experience navigating DAOs, blockchain governance, grant programs, and decentralized finance (DeFi) is highly desirable.
- Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving. Ability to identify potential use cases for prediction markets across various sectors and craft tailored proposals.
- Strong Communication & Persuasion Skills. Comfortable pitching to executives, DAO members, government officials and other stakeholders, both in written proposals and verbal presentations.
- Networking Ability. Active in the crypto, governance, and/or decision-making communities, with a passion for attending industry events and building relationships.
- Technical and economic Acumen. A basic understanding of economics, game theory, smart contracts, and/or AI-driven market analysis.
