Role Overview

The Engineering Manager / CTO will own the technology vision and lead engineering execution across multiple products and teams. You will make architectural decisions, scale platforms, manage distributed teams, and ensure the secure, timely delivery of smart contracts and supporting systems. This role is for a strategic leader who can balance technical depth with people leadership in an async-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap and coordinate delivery across multiple product teams
• Design scalable, secure architectures and promote adoption of Web3-native patterns
• Mentor engineers across levels and foster a high-performance technical culture
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, testing standards, and CI/CD processes
• Partner with product leaders to translate business objectives into technical plans
• Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of engineering talent
• Act as the technical representative in internal and external stakeholder discussions
• Ensure on-time, secure deployment of smart contracts and related infrastructure

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
• Deep expertise in Solidity, smart contract architecture, and blockchain security principles
• Proven success building and scaling remote engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of full-stack development and cloud-native architecture
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and automated testing
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and deliver under pressure
• Excellent asynchronous communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading protocol teams, DAO tooling initiatives, or public blockchain infrastructure
• Familiarity with validator or node infrastructure operations
• Previous CTO or founding engineer experience in a startup or DAO
• Knowledge of zk-SNARKs, Layer 2 scaling solutions, or EVM-compatible chains
