With Story, creators can register IP on-chain and set usage terms in seconds, dramatically lowering the barrier of today’s complex and antiquated IP legal systems.By making IP programmable, Story transforms intellectual property into a transparent, decentralized, global repository where AI agents, developers, and humans alike can transact, license, and monetize IP with a simple API call.Role SummaryWe are looking for a seasoned content strategist and business development leader to drive the deals, content partnerships including those in video, gaming, and social channels, and execute Story Protocol’s overall media strategy in Korea. As one of our most culturally influential markets, and one that exports billions of dollars of games, TV, movies, and K-Pop, Korea plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of intellectual property, gaming, and entertainment in Web3. This role will require both strategic acumen as well as a drive to close partnerships and build relationships to benefit the overall Story ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Identify and Source Content. Research and identify potential content partnerships and content owners who will register their IP with Story Protocol and enable creation of remixes and other derivative works through the tools in Story’s ecosystem.
- Evaluate Content. Assess content produced by Korean media, music and gaming companies from both creative and commercial perspectives, ensuring it aligns with product lines and user needs.
- Negotiate Deals. Lead end-to-end negotiations for content licensing within the context of larger partnerships to grow the Story ecosystem, covering financial terms, legal requirements, and complex cross-departmental sign-offs.
- Build Relationships. Cultivate and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with content providers and industry stakeholders.
- Strategic Consulting. Provide guidance to Story ecosystem projects, product management, and marketing teams on content selection, strategy, and potential opportunities.
- Partner Management & Tracking. Track and manage partner agreements, analyze content performance data to identify trends, understand audience needs, and make data-driven recommendations for new content or changes to existing content from Story’s partners.
- Project Management. Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, finance, operations) to facilitate the successful launch of new content into the market.
- Maintain Keep up-to-date on copyright law, industry trends, and emerging technologies to maintain expertise. Maintain a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments.
Who We Are Looking For
- 10+ years in consulting, investment banking, content strategy, and business development preferred. We highly value those with a consulting or banking background.
- Language requirements: Native Korean speaker with high-level English fluency
- Extensive deal experience in Korea, especially with deals involving top media names like CJ, Nexon, Naver, HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, or YG Entertainment.
- Comes with strong existing relationships across Korea’s tech, business, and culture media landscape
- Deep understanding of Korea’s cultural, tech, and entertainment landscape, especially crypto, AI, gaming, entertainment, creator economy, and K-content IP.
- Experience in Web3, crypto, blockchain, or emerging tech strongly preferred.
- Strong business analysis skills: able to justify a content license or partnership deal with financial data and knowledge of how the partner’s product fits within Story’s strategy
- Excellent English skills: comfortable navigating a global team and reviewing/editing English drafts.
- Strategic thinker and self-starter: able to independently spot opportunities and act on them.
- Familiarity with Korea’s regulatory and policy dynamics around crypto, AI, IP, or internet platforms is a major plus.
Nice to Have
- Prior role at a global consulting firm or investment bank experience in an entertainment sector
- Experience working at a licensing team within a large tech platform
- Involvement in Korean startup, VC, or blockchain communities
